How You Can Help

One Time Donation

One Time Donation

Donations will go to supplies, food, and transportation.

Transportation

Transportation

An easy way to help provide transportation fees for getting the kids to and from the camp. Each camp transportation costs total about $200.

Supplies

Supplies

Every arts and crafts camp requires a huge amount of supplies (pens, markers, paint, paint brushes, glue, scissors, and many other items). This is a big part of our budget.

Hoodie Shirts for the Girls

Hoodie Shirts for the Girls

For our soccer camp we purchase and give uniforms to the boys each year. This year we would like to provide clothing for the girls as well. For one our projects we would like to design hoodie t-shirts (with patches and patterns). As with all the other projects, the girls will be able to take this home with them and will thus have a new article of clothing.

About This Project

Since January 2009 Jerusalem Ministry has annually held a three-day Arts and Crafts Camp for elementary school girls from children homes around Seoul. In 2013 we had 46 girls from seven children homes participate along with 54 volunteers/staff. All the volunteers are trained before the camp and are well equipped to serve the children. During the camps each girl is paired with a volunteer who will work with them all three days. Each morning and each afternoon the girls are taught how to do a new craft.

The emphasis of the camp is to give each girl quality attention, love, and encouragement. The camps provide the girls with a safe, healthy atmosphere where they can grow in self-confidence as they learn their crafts. Each camp the girls smile more and more with each day. At the end of the camps they are always longing for the next one.

The camps are held at Youngnak Church in Seoul. Volunteers are Christians from different English ministries across the city. Volunteers must be able to attend our mandatory training meeting before the camp and must be able to serve all three days.

Funds go to providing for food expenses (we serve lunch, snacks, and drinks), supplies (all the crafts materials, which is a lot), and transportation fees for the girls. If you would like to see past camp expense reports, please e-mail us at jerusalemministry@gmail.com.

Project Owner

Jerusalem Ministry

Jerusalem Ministry is a South Korea based NGO that serves the orphanages and children of Seoul. Jerusalem Ministry has volunteers serving as tutors in different orphanages and also hosts annual camps for the children. Jerusalem Ministry also founded Oak Tree Project, a scholarship/mentoring program for kids from the orphanage who desire to attend college. The full time staff are all missionaries who individually raise their own support. Support given to the ministry will be spent on the camps, special outings and needs for the children living in the orphanages. Support for Oak Tree Project will go directly to the scholarship recipients. Support for the staff will go to their personal living needs. All profit from t-shirt sales will go to the children.
